My site is about 3 months old now and the stats are:
Threads: 620, Posts: 9,422, Members: 223, Active Members: 93
Welcome to our newest member, removed (http://www.fmstyle.co.uk/members/manjos.html)

Now personally I think those stats are pretty ok, maybe not the best, but after 90 days we have 9000 posts, so we are hitting 100 posts a day, which is a reasonable amount. Anyone who knows the game Football Manager will know that the competition online is a lot!

The thing is most of the current members posting are a bunch of 10 or so members with lots of posts each, and ideally I would like more members joining and posting. Each day we have between 0-5 new people but rarely do any of them post ever.

How have the succesful forum owners here tackeld this problem? Any advice is welcome.

Cheers!

Those stats are not just OK, there out of this world!

You don't see many sites after 3 months with 9,500 posts. And getting 100 new posts per day.

Are they that good! That's a good thing, cheers. I didn't know what the average was.

Lets put it this way, there are people here with boards online for 6 months. And still they cannot get there forums kick-started. So having 9,500 posts after 3 months, I'd say is quite impressive.

I'd say that's impressive as well, I know plenty of forums who've got way less than those stats (and a certain forum, which I saw once which only had 1000 posts after about three years, which is rather unimpressive). So don't worry about the activity, you're doing fine, and in case that doesn't help, try reading this to calm down:

Let them have a good time, don't be a PITA moderator :) or a control freak one. Let them work themselves out on disagreements, don't try to judge everything. Also have a good time yourself.

Real members are hard to come by, vast majority join but never post, or post 2 times and go away.

Amount of members is certainly impressive, but the post count for that amount of members seems a bit low.
