Cant log on

Just moved to the above server havent pointed the domain yet. But when i try to log onto new site after moving everything it says thanks for loging on etc then goes to front screen without me logged on. Any idea's?

Did you have a cookie domain or folder set before you moved?

In the old site under sugguested settings it has .Britmovie.net under cookie domain?

This is probably a cookie domain/path issue. To fix this, upload the tools.php script in the 'do_not_upload' folder of the vB zip file to your Admin CP directory and run it from your browser. Use this to reset the cookie domain and path back to the defaults. And then leave your cookie domain and path at the default settings. There is no reason to change these. If you need to specify a unique cookie, use the cookie prefix setting in config.php instead.

Try clearing your cookies and closing your browser windows before trying to login again after making the change.

is the new server. But when I try to logon it says thankyou for logging in but the url is
http://www.britmovie.net/britforum/login.php?do=login
This is the old server
after which it goes back to the former and i'm not logged on?

Why does it want to go to the old site is the a home url that needs changing?

Your login form has been modified to post directly to:

http://www.britmovie.net/britforum/login.php?do=login

That is the problem.

This is probably caused by an addon. Try disabling your plugins:

Whats the best way to do this, do i have to do it on the old site then transfer the database?

You need to go to the new server and add that snipet of code to your config.php file.
