What are your quotas for private messages for members and your staff?

my members get 250. My moderators get 500 and admins get 500 also

Does anyone know how much space PM's take up in general, on average? For instance, if you have 10,000 members and they all have 200 PM's instead of 50, would this be a performance/storage issue?

I would like to know this as well. My members ask for more space, but I have no idea what the consequences are. I am guessing it wouldn't be a problem, since it is only text.
