Hi,
All I have done was upload the "upload" file from the zip folder.
I haven't changed any config files, settings or anything.
On my admin panel, and on the forum it still says I'm running 3.7.3.
Is there anything more I need to do, or have done wrong?

You need to run the upgrade script. Consult the manual here: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/

There wasn't an upgrade file in there...?

The upgrade files are included in the /install folder. You need to browse to: http://www.yoursite.com/install/upgrade.php (or whatever the path is to your forums)

If you uploaded files from 3.7.3 PL1 and you were on 3.7.3, the only area that will change is the admincp. You do not need to run the upgrade script.

I just did that, but it still says it's running 3.7.3.
And not the patch..?

How come it still says running 3.7.3. and not the patch?
Thanks

In the admin cp it still says 3.7.3?
Sorry about earlier, I misread and thought you were upgrading from older version than 3.7.3.

Yeah it still says 3.7.3.
No problem, I have been running 3.7.3. for a while now, but I got hacked yesterday, so time to upgrade to patch 1.
What am I doing wrong?

The bottom of your forum home page will always display 3.7.3...regardless of the patch level.
If you login to the admin cp: http://www.hip-hopkings.com/forums/admincp
and it still says 3.7.3 instead of 3.7.3 Patch Level 1 (at the very top), then there's a problem. Otherwise, everything is working as it should.

You shouldn't need to do anything else.
The only possibility is that you didn't upload the files correctly.

I am working via FTP.
Copied and overwritten old files.
Same problem.
Displaying 3.7.3. in the top of the screen.
Somebody wanna take a closer look?

I have tried this a few times now, also tried to use the Upgrade Script.
Still displays 3.7.3.
If someone could take a look at this, it would be appreicated.

You are already running 3.7.3. You do not need to run upgrade.php.

Did you try logging out of the ACP, clearing your cookies/cache, then logging back in?

Guys bear with me. I am patching from 3.7.3. patch 2 to 3.7.3. patch 1.
I down loaded the newest version...which includes an unconfigured config.php
Am I to understand that I simply upload the entire unzipped file of directories and files from /upload and overwrite my forum????

Yes, you overwrite your current files with the 3.7.3 PL1 files.
You do not have to re-configure the config.php file. The one you had from the 3.7.2PL2 will still work.

Thanks Nick. So the process would be to rename or save a copy of my current config.php than restore it after I upload the /upload files and directories?

Well since the new files don't contain a config.php file, your current one wouldn't be overwritten.
The one that comes with the download package is config.php.new so it won't overwrite. But just to be safe, I would retain a copy of your current file. However, you should not need to use it.

DOH! Thanks, you really are patient. I'll get right on it.
