The site url is www.billsaddiction.com we restored to backups and the same thing happened 3 days in a row. We are trying to upgrade to the current software to improve our site security, but this hack/virus/whatever is putting a damper on things.

Any ideas on what this is, and how to get rid of it for good?

Put .htaccess in the public directory so any hack they apply from the browser requires them to first get those login details. This gives you time to properly restore and upgrade and fix any issue.

Of course, change your mysql details and your ftp login details and your email login details. And get the host to check HOW they are hacking in. So you or they can fix that hole.

And you really need to upgrade to the latest version of vB immediately.

LOL. I know. We were in the process of doing it yesterday, and the attack occured, for the 3rd straight day. Our hosting has no clue what it is, and can't tell us how the hacker is getting in. It's quite frustrating, to be honest.

Close your forums and upgrade. This will probably keep happening until you do that.
