I just have to get this off my chest and praise vB at the same time. :)
I am trying to bend PHP-Nuke to my needs and after working with vB it's like trying to pull teeth. You don't realize how GOOOOD vBs programming is until you try to work with something of less quality. I don't want to knock PHP-Nuke because Mr. Burzi obviously put alot of work into it, but man-o-man what a bunch of discombobulated programming. The fact that HTML and PHP code is so intertwined in PHP-Nuke makes troubleshooting a nightmare. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Phew....sorry, like I said. I had to get that off my chest! :D

I had to integrate PHP-Nuke with a vBulletin and came to this realization: Don't bend PHP-Nuke; bend vB. :)
It's not the most elegant solution, but I mirrored any changes to vB's user/userfield tables to PHP-Nuke's and it seems to be working quite well. Yay! :)

Not necesarily(sp).
You may have paid for vB.
But the mySQL ,UNIX, and PHP it runs on is all free.
Never underestimate free software.

Actually, my vB runs on MySQL, PHP and Windows, so, bah. ;)
But seriously, if you compare paid products to free products, you can't help but see the difference, in every aspect (except for the cost ;)).
Of course sometimes there are exceptions, but in general, you get exactly what you pay for.

Hey, Scott...
I gave up on Nuke and just installed vbPortal for a front page to vBulletin. The new version is in the late stages of beta testing, and it's awesome. :)
It gives you a vb-like maintenance with Nuke results. And members only have one login, their vBulletin one.
And I've just got to ask ... Would I have known you in a previous lifetime as an Amiga Artist? :)

Hey deb,
vBportal 3.0 wasn't finished when I started and I have already fixed that part of nuke to my needs. It's the HTML 'fixing' that's really giving me unusually large amounts of cerebral aching. Or is it posterial aching or maybe both.:D
As for your previous lifetime, why would you ask that? I loved my Amiga but I did no artwork on it. Just played games.

Well, I thought I recognized your name from the old GEnie days, and I *guessed* it might have been art.
Sounds like I only remembered half right! Alas! Do you remember the *StarShip* ? :)
I put two projects on hold until vbPortal 3.0 was stable enough to use out there in public. I'm glad I did.
