I dropped WordPress and switched to the vBulletin blogging software. So far, it seems like a huge mistake. I moved roughly 10 years worth of my articles into the system, but the blog doesn't seem that popular. Yet, I'm not giving up. I started a contest at my website for building the best blog...

It's geared toward the Guild Wars community.
I'm still trying to make something happen with the vBulletin blog at my website. :)

That's a great looking site you've built there!
Good luck with the blogs... :)

Nice site. Did you use any CMS? Or purely frames?

My question would be is why are the Blogs a secondary portion of your site and not a primary portion like the Forums and Chat?
By relegating the link to the blogs in the Forum Navbar, you diminish their importance. Your Calendar is in the same circumstances and not even used. However if you made the Blogs a primary focus of your site along with Chat and Forums then they will gain more popularity over time. Just because the default link to the Blogs is added to the navbar template, doesn't mean it has to stay there.

Well, wouldn't this be the same for a certain developers blog?

I would add a link entitled "Photics Blog" to the main navigation and use this link: http://photics.com/blogs/photics/. This seems to be your main focus. You could also have a link to "Blogs" as well and show the recent entries screen or the blog listing screen.

I added two links to the top blue bar... one to promote my blog and one to promote the blog contest.
