I have 7 forums on my board that need moderating..
You can see it at http://www.wannabebigforums.com
I have 3-4 on each one... However recently we have had a dew idiots that find it funny to come over and cause some trouble and often a moderator of one forum sees it but cannot do anything but post in the advisor forum and hopes that the relevant mod sees it.... Sometimes it may be there for a while..
Then we have the odd member flaming matches and a bit of source posting (people offering steroids etc..).. lol bet you;re thinking great board. lol..
Well, what I was thinking is keeping the mods names on each forum but giving them full permissions in all forums?
Does anyone else do this?

Yes this is what I do. I assign moderators to forums but actually they are given moderator rights on every forum. So they can quickly sort out trouble there. I figure that if trust them to moderate one forum, I trust them with them all.

I certaintly like the notion of doing that... it's up to you, though. If you trust your moderators and want to give them freedom, go for it. On my site, I have Senior Moderators who have super moderator powers, and the rest of the regular moderators have power in just one forum.

Yeah me and two others do have this right currently, although I have been considering letting all have it..
I think I will leave it for now and perhaps introduce it as it is needed more..

I don't intend to make any judgements, but I can tell you from some of my previous experiences if people visit your board for the first time and see a few occurences of the situation you just described, they might think the administration is nothing but a bunch of slackers and that that is what goes on all the time. This leads to them kinda not coming back there ever, which is bad for your site.
My suggestion is assign more people as super moderators (e.g. the ones that usually are there in the moderator forum posting notes for other mods to take action, etc) OR you can change the permissions for the Moderators group to show "Is a super moderator" as "Yes".
Nice board you got there, BTW :)

Yes I think I will increase the super moderators..
Right now stuff gets removed pretty damn quick but only cause I am about. If I left for a coupla weeks things mught get left there...
So yeah super mods might be the answer..
Cheers the the compliments. :)
