And maybe if I knew what squatting is I'd understand why.

you buy all kinds of domains and try to sell them to businesses for thousands of dollars. you don't even use the domain, you just try to turn over at least 5000% profit on it. lamers.

*me punches my pillow*

LMAO - I just got contacted by one of these people today at work!

One of our subsidiaries is a cemetery - we have all the possible combinations of domains initials and full names with .com's, .net's, .org's, etc. I just got a fax from Expiry.com, telling me to buy "oceancountymemorial.com" because "domain names are scarce, and we shouldn't risk losing this name to competitors, entities, or others". So I should pay them out the ass instead? LMAO!

I can't stand that stuff. A year or so ago this was huge. Everyone was going out and buying any domain they could get that was easy and simple. Even things like pandh.com, just in case a company with a P and a H wanted it.

Its truly pathetic and I agree completely.

i got my eyes on a domain right now that a guy is squatting on. he wants $2500 for it. no one in their right mind would ever pay that much for a mac specific domain. :p

i'll break him eventually. :D

Well if you want the domain for business purposes, there are legal steps you can take. I'm sure if you get a lawyer to send him a letter telling him the actions that will be taken if he doesn't surrender the domain he'll give it up...

It'll prolly be around 100 bucks for the letter though.....
