Evening,

I'm looking to see if it would be possible to merge two forums together and how it's done. I'm also wondering If Vbulletin is able to do this for us?

Currently have an Simple Machines Forum v1.1.5 and VBulletin 3.7, What we are looking to do is merge the SMF forum into the VBulletin one. {Posts, Members, Threads}

I've never used Impex before and wouldn't know where to start. Also some members are on both forums, with the same username, Would this cause hassle or problems along the lines? I know Vbulletin has the Users Merge Feature and if it's going to cause trouble then usernames on the SMF forum can edited manualy then merged.

Much Appericated,
Regards,
GersFan

ImpEx will manage a merge import by matching users on email address as it's the only filed which can be relied on.

During the user module it will give the option to merge on email, the rest of the module will run as per normal as the usergroups & forums from SMF will be created by ImpEx as they are in the source then populated.

Thanks Jerry,

So The forums from the board will be created on my Vbulletin, and the Usergroups will also be created and it will be simple a case of moving the users into the groups I want and delete the copied forums and usergroups?

Indeed, it will create them all, then you move data from A to B as you like :)
