View Full Version : how long it will take to restore postindex with 16 millions of posts?

hi
i just want restore my forums which it’s database size around 1.2 GB
and want to do on it test to import some data from another forum which size is 124 MB

the proplem is when I take bakcup from the biggest forum and try restore it it really have so highload i try see what the proplem and found that postindex still restore i did it by ssh and before 3 hour ago and the restore operation still work on postindex table
load now
Server Load 15.96 (4 cpus)
Memory Used 14.4 %and belive or not I don’t have any site or script on server just vbulletin

so really I need advice on this
I try rebuild search via admincp but oooh it take 2 days and not end

Unless you are using the default vBulletin Search, there is no reason to rebuild this index. The default search uses MySQL's fulltext indexing.

If you are using the built-in search, then you should use searchshell.php from your server's command line to rebuild this index. You'll find searchshell.php in your do not upload folder.
