View Full Version : Thread Update Suggestion/Quick Question

I noticed that Floris' thread, http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90059, is not up-to-date as far as the license prices go. The old prices are still there ($85 and $160), so you may want to update them before someone thinks those are the prices (and tries to complain and get one for that price, lol).
Also, I have a quick question. I have an owned license in my members' area that is expired but never been used for anything yet. Can I download vBulletin and use it to start a forum and then not get updates for it after that, or can it not even be initially used without renewal?

Well thanks for updating, Floris, but how about answering my question too?

I didn't reply to your thread, because I only quickly changed the prices without reading the thread .. something that's on my todo list. I didn't read the rest of the thread, because I haven't start work yet today and only quickly wanted to change the price.
If you have an owned license you can use it. Even if it is expired. The version available to you are the stable releases that were available to you when the license was active. Once you renew the license any new version released in the mean time and current stable releases will be unlocked.

Alright, thanks. I have 3.7.2, so that's not bad then.

If you can download 3.7.2 on that expired license, yes, that's fine. The "patches" if you can't get 3.7.2 PL1 are free for download. So you can also patch the expired licensed files. You're up to date then it seems.
