First, I'm not sure if this is the right forum, sorry if it isn't.

I currently run a UBB6 board at http://www.powwows.com

The board has over 2,000 members. I'm considering switching over to vBul, but have a few questions.

First, how is the conversion? Is it very smooth? Any issues? I have hacks on my board, do I have to remove them before I can migrate?

How is the cpu usage of vBul? I'm on a dedicated RaQ4 with 256 mb of ram.

Are there sources, websites, etc for hacks to vBul? Although, most of the features I need are included.

How tough are the updates to install? How often do updates come out? Is it like UBB, and you have to reinstall all hacks?

With Who's Online function, can you see where each user is?

Calendar, can users add events other than birthdays? Can the admins, delete/edit the calendar?

How do the picture attachments work? When you delete a thread, does the attachments get deleted? Is there an admin screen for dealing with attachments?

Thanks for your time! I know I have a lot of questions!

Never used the conversion myself, but many members here have. Take vB moderator "smachol", for example, he successfully went from UBB to vB. It's well worth it.

I don't know the specifics of how the server comparison is as this is relied on a case-by-case basis, but overall, vB is much softer on the server. That's why UBB has been banned in so many places.

Hacks can be found in the hack forum here, there are a wealth of resources here.

As far as upgrading, it is a piece of cake. Simply download the files, upload them overtop your existing ones, and run the upgrade file from your browser. Instructions are in the announcements forum, as always.

For the who's online question, you can indeed tell where they are, without hacking. Just click on the "Currently Browsing" link down there and it will take you to the appropriate page.

For your calendar questions, yes, both can be done - easily.

For attachments, the attachment is no longer accessible once the thread has been deleted, but I believe there is still an entry in the DB for it. Admins can edit attachments in the CP as they can most functions.

Reason you got no replies was you posted it in the wrong forum.

I would say Feedback and Suggestions or Chit Chat.
