View Full Version : Cookies options, login not saved?

Dear fellow members and honorable staff of Vbulletin! :)

I have a question for ya.

Some of my members are having problems logging into the forums, and it won't save their login. If "X" chooses to click "Save Login", it won't save it.

What could cause this problem? Is it a cookie problem on the forums, or is it clientside? *This happened after the last vb update.
I've also tried to import my last db backup, but this didn't help either.

Please advise, and keep in mind I'm somewhat of a newbie at this.

Check the 'Cookie Domain' and 'Cookie Path' option in your vBulletin Options.
If they're not already, set them to (blank) and / respectively.

Ok I did just that, and nothing changed. The problem remains, he still can't save his login. :S

Tell them to click on the 'Remember me' box when they login. This will keep them logged in as long as they are not blocking cookies, assuming of course you have no modifications that broke this.

Ahh that's it !

It must be on the clientside, cause it works for me just fine. I will ask him to check his own cookie settings, and unblock em.

Hey...just bumping this thread because I have a question about it...

In my vB options under "Path to Save Cookies," I have it set as /

However, in the drop-down suggestion part, there is /board/ which is the URL of my message board. Do I want to have it set to this???

Ok...I have had it set on that and me and my users are still having problems logging in.

When I try to log in, I put in my password and leave the checkbox for remember me unchecked (because I log in at work and dont want to stay logged in). It then tells me to wait and redirect me to the page I was viewing, but then shows the log in screen again...saying that I am not logged in.

What gives?
