Problems with norwegian characters after move

I hope someone can help.

I just moved my forum from a shared server in norway to a dedicated server in the US. And now all the norwegian characters ÆØÅ is gone. I was able to fix the phrases by uploading a languagefile. But the characters is still gone in all the posts, forum names and descriptions and usernames. Is there any way to fix this?

I'm uploading a new dump at the moment to see if that helps.

Probably the database on your new host doesn't support the characters, so you'll need to change encoding on it.

can you post output for this command from ssh telnet as root user

mysqladmin -u root -p var ver> stats.txt

open the stats.txt file to copy and paste it's contents.

if you still have access to old server, grab the same output too so we can see what differed in charactersets each mysql server supported.

I think I've found the solution. I didn't select the right encoding when dumping with mysqldumper. So it was set to utf8. Hoping a new dump will fix this.

It's fixed! The new dump with the corect encoding solved the problem with the norwegian characters and a problem with the plugins. :D
