Two servers, which one?

Is it okay to buy a vB licence, with the possibility of having to reinstall the software to a different server? I am not sure which one will offer the best speed. I have the time to test before setting up the forum for business.

That's perfectly fine as long as you only have one active forum per license.

Thank you. I understand about the licences. One licence per board. And naturally enough vB has to make a living.

you can move your forum to any server... as long as you use one licence per instance of forum... so you MOVE it, not duplicate it... if you change the URL/Domain name, you have to edit your license.
