[Help] forum Depth?!

Ok I think the title my be a bit misleading but its the best decription I can think of..

What I want to do is to have subforum listing without the "new thread" option underneath like on vb.org so it sort of looks like a different forum,

I have created a forum set "Forum is Active" (Will not appear if set to no, but remains accessible if the forum's URL is known) to "no" and added a link

I have been playing with.....
Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Forum Listings Display Options

for ages and think this is not the way to go

Look at the URL.
You will seee the forum id. Copy that then paste it to the end of this url:
http://yoursiteurl.com/index.php?f=
And you will see a listing of the subforums without the threads.

OR to do it the way vbulletin.org has done you need to change your 'tutorials' forum into a category instead of a forum, which means it can never have threads.
