Welcome page/mesage

I would like to have a welcome message on my home page to welcome people to the forum. Ideally, this message would play a dual role in introducing visitors to a blog also.

So what I'd like is a message of a couple of paragraphs, with a link at the end to "read more". This link would take readers to the rest of article which would be located in a blog section as the first blog.

How can I make this happen?

Probably a notice or a custom welcome message.

Thanks for directing me to the Notice options. I think that will work just fine and looks great on the site so far.

Is there any way to keep the notice ONLY on the home page and not follow through to child forums/pages?

I am not sure on what pages to display.

I use mine to ask people to register, and then I use it to remind them to look for the email in their spam folder.

Once that is over, I give a notice for the first couple of posts on a little "post here first" kind of message.

I have not looked into the more advanced features of the tool yet although I do enjoy what it has done for me so far.

I am in the same situation. I want the Notice on the first 'home' page to invite people to the BLOG section, but I don't want the notice to appear there - or in any actual forum for that matter.

Basically - how do you have an 'Welcome' type message on the first home page that disappears on any other page??
