I have recently had my licence key stolen
I purchased it in December and it still has about 5 months left to run when i recive a e-mail from customer support who basically have told me to remove the sites or buy a new licence
Being as the sites are nothing to do with me at all i have had to buy a new licence and have now been a victim of web crime

Have you ever given your license login info to your members area to anyone?

That being the case you would have no problem proving who it was purchased the licence.........
This does not belong in the hosting forum and any issue like this should be conducted in private with the staff at Jelsoft.

Your details...Even ya Creditcard details ? Or your Address ? How about IP address im sure everyone in this world have own IP..Why not they detect the IP address person who first bought it and try match with yours .
Since Vb people know it your license why on earth u get another license ? So why u need buy new license ? Kinda dont make sense because vb know not ya fault .
U should let VB people know go look for people who stole ya license .

I wonder if it would be appropriate to post the name of the forums that "stole" your license.
If they have your license, then they probably have the ability to post here and provide their side of the story.
My question would be: so how did you get your license?
If you buy another license, then it looks like you're conceding that they have the right to your old license. Don't just shrug it off if you feel you're in the right.
And I agree, this post is off-topic on the Hosting Forums. Perhaps you could ask the vBulletin Forums staff to move this to a more appropriate area.
Good luck to you in clearing this up!
