Popdown menu issues

I'm running 3.7.1 although this problem has followed me since earlier 3.6 versions.

The pop down menus... Like if you click on their user name, it pops down with various options.... like "view public profile" and "send private message" etc... With the menu drops down and you *click* on one of the options, the menu just closes and nothing happens. It seems to happen both in FF and IE.

Any suggestions?

If you add a new default style, and disable your modifications, does the same thing happen?

Actually, I decided to "revert" my header, head include and footer with the 3.7.1 update (just to start fresh). Something I did in those caused the menus to break, but all is good now. I'll start from scratch and check the menus as I go.
