Missing things in profiles

Some of my members profiles are lacking the visitors message tab, and some are lacking the Friends module in their profiles. Some are missing both. How can I fix this? It is not specific to one usergroup, but random. I look forward to your advice!

Are all your templates up to date?

On one of the site yes, on the other no.

Try with the default vB style and with all plugins disabled. Do you still have the problem?
