I need to edit the “check your email” message after a member has registered because emails from my forum goes in the users junk mail. So I need to highlight that. By the way, is it possible to have the whole registered members mask have their first posted moderated?
Also I have a few emails from my forum that state "Database Error" my forum seems to be running fine but I think they are from the spammers as one had a spam accounts username on. Is anything wrong or can I just ignore it?

You can use this to inform users who are awaiting email confirmation:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101595
This helps to reduce the number of problems with email activations by informing the user of the status and what they need to do.
You can restrict access by post count with a promotion. Here is an example:

Ok thanks for that.
I know id have to set up a new user group but how do I set it do all first posts (post 1) has to be moderated?
Despite all tips from VB I am still getting a lot of spam posting and even PM'ing my members! So they must be human and not bots.
So in this case I need to validate all first posts and stop new users from using the PM system.

Assuming the db info in your config.php file is correct, this is a server issue. Please see this page for the causes of this error:
