How long should it take to rebuild stats?

on a dual xeon server with 2gb ram and scsi hd's?
forum has about 7 years history, and 211k posts.

Been cycling now for about 24 hours.

I think there is something wrong. With that number of posts it shouldn't take that long. Did you try to repair your tables first?

No, I didn't. I stopped it (it was still running 36 hrs later), ran the repair/optimize and restarted it.
