I am using HostGator for my forum. It got medium forum size traffic. So far HostGator hosting is working great; except it slowed down once and they fixed the problem. I love the speed from the server, tech support is not that great quality but they respond fast.

I don't work for them:) Since I have my forum on their hosting and its working great, I thought I should recommend it.

My forum is WebCosmoForums.com, if you would check.

theres no way in hell you are running that forum off HostGator.


EDIT: wow you mite be right, where on earth did that speed come from, they used to be snail pace.

Nice, which plan are you on and did you do any tweaking to bring file size down?

I am using the Swamp plan. I haven't done anything myself actually, except disabled the full text search.

I've been with HostGator since Sept 2006 with absolutely no problems.

It's a shared server and once in a while I hit a blip where it runs a little slow, usually someone hammering MySQL with a bad script, but regains speed soon after. Otherwise it's always very fast. Unfortunately, I had to make it viewable only to members awhile back so you can't check out the speed without joining.

I've been with them for more than 2 years. Have a few problems but lately, I've noticed that their reply takes longer than expected... my minimum waiting hour before they reply to my ticket is around 4 hours.

Still I'm with them but planning to transfer to a VPS since I always get the too much resource thing error for my forum.
