Moving To New Server Have Ssh On One But Not The Other

I'm about to move to a new server and host but I'm having a problem after reading the manual and some of the posts on here. On the old server ( a shared account) I do not have ssh access, but on the new server (dedicated) I do. How would the procedures change?

If you don't have telnet or SSH access, some people have reported success with these scripts:
