New server and email problems

I just moved my site to a new VPS. This is my first experience with a VPS as I've always been on a shared host. The problem is that I am no longer getting email notifications of new posts and etc. Everything is set up the same in the Admin CP so I assume it has something to do with the VPS. I am using a regular email though for the notifications, not an email like me@mydomain.com

Any help would be appreciated.

vB uses the server for it's email. If there are problems, then the issue is either with the server itself or on the receiving end.
