Registration Verification Image Intermittent

I have an odd problem with the registration verification image. 50% of the time the image appears and works fine. The other 50% of the time the image doesn't show up at all (just the red cross in Internet Explorer). This is checked by refreshing the browser.

I'm tunning 3.7.0 on PHP 5.2.5 and using GD. The forum has no add ons, and no template mods in profile or registration pages. I've checked for suspect file versions.

I suspect this is an ISP or browser cache issue. Refreshing the registration page gives a different session ID on the registration image, just the new image isn't making it through to the user.

Anyone know or a fix or workaround for this?

That is an ISP, server or browser issue. This cannot be controlled by vB.

Many thanks for the reply Steve. I think it must be an ISP thing. Of the three who have emailed me with this problem it is Tiscalli/Pipex twice and Orange once. All UK based. And I'm with Pipex until next Tuesday so I get the same trouble.

I'm not sure what to do about the issue. I don't like to exclude new members just because of their ISP. Also I can't think of any way that vBulletin might detect this information isn't getting through.

I'll add a note on the registration form to suggest that certain ISPs could be problematic and offer a contact email address so I can manually register them.
