Hi All,
For my vBulletin 3.7 board, I have chosen the options Verify Email address in Registration and Moderate New Members.
So the new users will be placed in the admin moderation queue once they confirm their email id. I can either approve or delete their membership. If I approve them, a email goes to them telling that their account is now validated.
This is fine...
Now lets say a new member 'testmember' tries to register. Then validation email goes to his email id. Lets say - he does NOT validate this email id.
Now he will be in the user group 'Users awaiting email confirmation'.
Through my admin panel, I go to this user group and change his User Group as 'Registered Users'. (That is - I am approving his membership even though he did not validate his email id)
Now, the problem is no email goes to this member telling that he has now become a member of my forum.
Is there any way I can inform him that his membership is approved.

They only go into the Moderation queue after they validate, not before.

You can send him an email yourself to the email addy he used when he registered notifying him that his account has been approved. There's no guarantee he will receive it but you have done all you can do to notify him of the approval. If he used a fake email of course he will never receive that confirmation.
User Manager - Quick User Links - Choose "Send Email to User" from the drop down box.

But I want to approve few of them even if they don't validate their email id.
I can find them in the user group 'Users awaiting email confirmation'. And I can change their user group to 'Registered Users'. But only problem is they are not getting any notification that they have now become a member.

Sorry, there is no function to do this. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.

If it's 1 or 2 users, I can manually send email. But generally I get hundreds of registrations per day and 60 % of them don't complete their email validation (because they are newbies to all this, so they are mostly not aware of validation emails.).

So there is no notification to member if the admin has changed a member's User Group (Lets say - 'Registered Users' to 'Moderators'). Right ?

That is correct.

There's a way to do that in a couple of steps if you have a large number to process. I would cheat by leaving them all in the Users Awaiting Email Confirmation group first. Then I would use the Send Email to Users function to target just that usergroup and then send them an email notifying them that their account had been approved. As soon as those emails have been transmitted I would immediately use the Prune/Move Users feature to mass move them into the Registered Users group. That will accomplish what you are trying to do in only two steps.

Thank You ! Currently it seems to be the only option I am left with ;)
