Hi,

We had a dedicated Dual Xeon 2.8GHz machine with 2GB of RAM and 2x 120GB IDE hard drives for £89 a month with The Planet. It has been cancelled as I feel that it is an overkill. Hardly ever use more than 50GB of bandwidth a month and system resource usage is relatively low. I am now hosting the site on a shared hosting provider.

Do you think the site (mentioned above) would ideally require a dedicated server? (If so, what spec?) Shared hosting is much cheaper and a lot less hassle, but I'm not sure whether we risk being cut off for "excessive resource usage" with our shared hosting provider. I guess it's more active than your average site on a shared server, but it's still not THAT big.

Any suggestions/feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks. :)

You could use a vps with at least 512 mb ram for your site

Yes, I think VPS will suit your needs looking at your requirements. You can upgrade as per your requirements when you require more resources.

Up to 90 users per hour. I would suggest only a good VPS. I have run even 200 users online with a VPS (even though it got bit slow).
