I attempted to upgrade our VB 3.6.8 PL2 with 3.7. I uploaded the files per instructions omitting the install/install.php file and made the proper changes and renamed the config.php file. I initiated the upgrade via my browser per instructions and all steps appeared to process correctly and ended with my being directed back to the admin control panel. There's no inidcation the upgrade was successful. Version numbers are still the same as they were pre upgrade? What do I do now? Is it safe to run the upgrade again?

I tried to run the upgrade script again after disabling all plug ins and noted that the script is indicating a 3.6.8 upgrade not 3.7? It would appear that it isn't finding the upgrade script for 3.7?

Verify that ALL of the files uploaded are indeed 3.7.

How do I verify that? I obtained the 3.7 download from the members area, unzipped it to a new folder and uploaded the upload folder/files to my server in the forum folder. I can't imagine they wouldn't be 3.7 files?

Download files from your ftp, see if they have a 3.7 heade ror a 3.6 header.
Chances are your ftp did not properly overwrite the old files, and thus the error.

You'll have to be patient with me Zach, I'm a newbie. If I understand correctly, the upload folder which I uploaded to my server into the forum main folder was not replacing an existing "upload" folder, so there wouldn't have been any files to overwrite in the upload process? Do you mean that files were not overwritten in the upgrade process? Perhaps that's where I made a mistake? I should have uploaded the files and/or folders within the upload folder to the main forum folder? Then the individual files and folders would have overwritten any existing 3.6.8 files on the server?

Ok, I think I'm good now. I re-uploaded the upload folder contents to the forum main folder and repeated all the other steps. The upgrade went through without a hitch. Sorry to have bothered you with such a newbie error. Thanks for the help anyway.
