About to upgrade forum 1 to V3.7 as well as install a new forum (forum 2) with V3.7 which will be populated with a number of forums from forum 1. My question here is:......
Is it possible to have one membership that will work for both forums or would members have to join both forums and log in to each individually?
If possible, how would it be done?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers - Neil :)

This will require a second license of course.
In addition his requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.

Thanks Steve. I'm one step ahead of you in that I already have the second licence.
I'm surprised this hasn't come up before as I'm sure there would be a number of forums that would like to split off part of their forum that could run as a stand alone and start a new forum and allow dual membership to the 2 sites as I am about to do.
What I plan to do is update the old site to 3.7 then transfer a copy of the old site to the new site and delete all but the dozen forums I want left on the new site.
This seems to be the only way to move sections of an old forum to make a new forum yet still keep all the original posts and threads needed for the new forums. Should also keep the members list from the old forum on the new site as well and not muck up the postings. I hope.
Both forums will still be running but the new one will have a dozen forums and the older one will be a dozen forums smaller with only around 70 left.
If anyone has any suggestions that may simplify this I would love to hear them, but I think this seems to be the easiest solution I've found so far.
Cheers - Neil :)
PS will look on vbulletin.org for a dual membership thing. Thanks again.

The downside to having 2 seperate forums is that you have to do the same thing twice, meaning requiring 2x the maintenance time.
One recommendation I could make is to merge everything into 1 forum database, and then use something like these hacks:
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=147373
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=92201
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=175687
You could use that to seperate each of the forum into 2 seperate pages. And apply a custom theme to each page which will then allow you to have a custom look for each section but at the same time, combining the user database to allow cross-site support, even though its really just 1 database, but users will appreciate the fact that they can easily switch from one to another without login in twice. This would work effectively ofcourse if the content on both sites is compatible.
