ipb blog/gallery/board to vb questions

is it possible to convert ipb blogs to vb blogs? if it is, some hints would be appreciated.

if not, can the ipb blogs be imported as a new forum section on the new vb?

also how will the ip gallery be handled?
if i'm not mistaken, vb version 3.7 will have a gallery embedded?

also, i have a translated language on ipb. is that imported? or i have to start from the scratch for a new language in vb?

i really want to import the blogs and the gallery images. so should i wait for version 3.7 to be released or just convert to 3.6.9 and then later on import gallery images and blogs? (assuming there will be some mechanism to acheive this?)

Not the Gallery because we do not have a Gallery.

We do have an importer for the IPB Blog:

Okay. I will try that. however i'm having some problem already converting the forums. I have ran all the modules and got the following report.

and there's no more options left to be performed on impex. but when i open the vbulletin forum, i don't see any changes. its the default installation!!!

please help me.

converting from IPB v2.3.4 to vb3.6.9, impex 1.88, (although it listed vb368pl2, and ipb 230 as the latest versions. since they were the closest, i chose those)

Thanks for your help. So far so good. Despite a little loss of information, I'm overall very satisfied. :)

I cleaned up impex as you suggested, updated all counters from admin panel. Most things look normal except the memberlist. (I ran user names, and user titles and ranks counter twice.) Memberlist only shows one user, but on forum page it shows the total user.

There are two options you need to check to set whether or not members are viewable on memberlist:

1. By usergroup:

Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Edit -> Usergroup Options -> Viewable on the Memberlist -> Yes

2. By post count:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> User Listing & Profile Viewing -> Minimum Posts

but just one final question. When I mentioned vb gallery, i was referring to this post http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1450769&postcount=7 (post # 7, on first look of vb 3.7)

It mentions of a gallery. I have converted everything from ipb (blog and forum) to vb. I only have gallery left to be imported. my question is, when version 3.7 comes out, will impex have the ability to migrate the gallery from ipb?

The vB Album feature is not a full Gallery so I do not think an importer will be available for it. However you can make this suggestion in the Suggestions forum.
