I have just purchased the blog add on for 3.6.8 patch level 2.

I need instructions for a "new install", not an upgrade. Keep in mind I'm new to vbulletin. Any existing threads for this? I can only find instructions for upgrade.

To install the blog on top of vBulletin, go to the admin control panel > products & plugins box > product manager link > browse down the page that loads and click on import product > select the .xml file after uploading all the files to the web server and select yes from the yes/no question. And click the import. And you're done.

Thank you so much! I have but one more question:
I uploaded the "product-vbblog.xml" and everything took off but, I notice there are three more xml files in the same folder, bitfield_vbblog.xml, cpnav_vbblog.xml, and hooks_vbblog.xml. Do I do anything with them?

No, vBulletin will automatically process all the files. Installing addons is nothing more but uploading the files and importing the product-*.xml file
