How well does blogging in VB 3.7 compare to WordPress and the ability to use something like Feedburner?

It would be unfair to compare vBulletin + vBBlog to Wordpress as wordpress is purpose built blogging software and vBulletin is forum software.
But i find it sufficient enough :)

I am just looking for the high points in a comparison. I understand that WP is built for one purpose and VB is trying capture some of that. I am trying to understand what are the major things that VB blog may be missing from WP.
Thanks

the big difference with WP is that WP is made to expand your content to the whole internet, with all the feeds it can touch... vbBlog is not meant to become a spreader of information like WP is.
also, you can't have specific features like WPMU in vBulletin, something that would make the blog of vB a powerful engine...

The vB Blog addon allows you to quickly and easily add blogging features to specific usergroups. It is another way of allowing your site visitors to contribute content to your site. With vBulletin 3.7, a user's blog is more integrated into their user profiles to allow some better promotion. However the Blog addon is a separate product and not a standard feature in vBulletin.
The only key features missing when compared to Wordpress are:
Style Control
XML-RPC input of new posts
Multiple Authors per Blog
Pages
However it gives you the ability to give thousands of users their own blogs instantly with control over advertising, rich-text editing by default, rss feeds for users to promote their blogs and in turn your website and a lot more. Please look at our online blog demonstration located at:

nexialys,
Do you think it would be worth getting an add-on for WP from VB.org. I really want the ability to expand the blog content to the whole Internet. Especially my own blog within VB and perhaps a few good bloggers that are members of our VB forums/bloger.

Technically speaking Wayne it does have Style control where as you can make a separate skin for the blog alone which is a duplicate of the current skin and edit the CSS/Templates and force users to use that skin.
Or did you mean something else?

Yes you can sorta.
Vbulletin Blog software is really not great. The number of successful communities using it I can probably count on one hand. You can't have more than one person administer a blog, more than one person can't post to a blog, there are no blog catagories, there is no easy way to insert images from an album to a blog, blog users can't select a skin or style, the list goes on. Vbulletin Blog software at this current stage is a poor investment IMO.

I mean something else....
I mean having each individual blog author specify a style for their blog like they can with their user profile in 3.7.0. Hopefully this feature migrates to the blog as well in the next vB Blog feature release.

Yes, what he is looking for is WPMU (http://mu.wordpress.org/), which is developed by the same people of Wordpress.com (and the Wordpress software in general). It allows you to have people that sign up to your root blog, to make their own blog(s).
To get an idea, it is essentially like Wordpress.com, where people can sign up for their own Wordpress blogs hosted by you.

I'm considering getting the blog for vb, but I'm wondering, wouldn't it make the most sense to have the blog as part of the member Profile page, and integrate it with all that content?

Please don't post this same thing in multiple threads. This is the third one I've seen so far.
