How to move a licens key

I have just taken over a vbulletin forum, but i have a problem. The problem is that, the licens is allmost over the hill, and therefore
i need to add my own licens. I have just bought, so i would like to use this instead.

I hope this is the right place for this.

Dear ts-bird,

You will have to download a copy of vBulletin from the Member Area, using your OWN username and password, the one you should have gotten when you brought your licence. You then need to upload and replace all the forum files with YOUR copy, then reconfigure the config.php file.

Just had the same question. BUT : During the install you'll be asked for the customer number - just wondering whether this is saved in the database as well ..

The customer number is linked to the files you're using for the installation, that's why it's imperative that you use the correct files. If you don't you'll be flagged as a possible license-violation during random license-checks which may be performed on the domain listed for the license.
