Global Akismet Key

Hi,

I just want to know what this key is for, and how will the visitors know their key ? Cause in the Blog Settings panel, there is a blank space left for the Global Akismet Key. I even dont know what that is for , and didnt actually understand how the forum subscribers will know what it is and how they will fill it ? Is there a way not to show that Akismet Key in their Blog Settings page ? Cause in this forums Blog Settings there seems to be none ? :confused:

Akismet is a spam prevention system (http://akismet.com/) created by automattic who also engineers WordPress.

The vBulletin Blog and vB 3.7 include akismet integration. For akismet to work, you must enter a special key obtained by creating an account on http://WordPress.com

You could have users enter thier own, if they have one, or set a global one. If your site is commercial, you will need to buy an akismet license to set a global key.
