The License

Well,

I started a website, and I needed a forums,
so I asked around on what I should use.
This guy said he had bought a vBulletin forums,
but wasn't using it.
So, he gave the board to me.
Now, upon installation it asked for customer ID,
I entered it and it was valid.
Now comes my Question:

- Is this a real board/license or is it nulled?

I have the customer ID and License ID,
So how can I tell if the Forums is real or not?
Also, is there a way he can link to my account if the board is real,
so I can download the latest version of vBulletin?
