Only remoted Avatars imported

Hi again.

I tried to import all user's avatars from phpbb2 to vBulletin 3.6.8 2+.

Only the remoted avatars were imported, but not the ones from the server/gallery.

I have used the absolute path (/mnt/.../../../......./htdocs/forum/images/avatars).
Inside of vBulletin all usergroups are allowed to use and upload custom avatars. User picture options are allowing avatars as well.
The avatar storage is set to database.
The folders are set to ./customavatars (file path & url).
The chmod is set to 777.
Same in the ACP: in the profiles of the "normal" avatar users there is nothing at all, while the users with remoted avatars show them as supposed to.

Strange enough in a previous testing environment I managed to import all avatars. Now I do not succeed anymore & cannot reproduce, as said before, only the remoted avatars are available for the users who chose this type.

Please help me, how can I solve this problem?
