How to notify a blog user of new comments

How could I notify members when a new comment has been added to their blog. I would like something similar to the vb mod enabling members to have new PM, new reputation comment or number of new posts notification in their welcome box.

Any suggestions or mod code would be helpful.

Actually, I think this would be now possible if it used the new notification system (showing whatever new notifications you have), but that's more of a suggestion. Don't think there's a way to do this by default unfortunately. Perhaps look at vBorg (http://www.vbulletin.org) to see if anyone has made such a thing?

I do agree better notification would be great. :)

Could anyone say what the phrases which indicate a new blog comment are?

Surely they can just subscribe to their own blog entry and get notified of comments that way?
