about templates and skins

hey folks, i've a question about skins and templates ... :)

right now i've on my 3.7 Beta 5 board a 3.6.8 skin ... it runs almost correctly but i've two old templates to renew ... obviously if i revert these templates i lost some modifications that i've made previously ...

so how i can do the upgrade? simply merge the new copy (made for the Beta 5) onto the 3.6.8's skin that i've onto my board now?

what is the correct procedure?

Usually, it's reverting the templates and then adding back those customizations that is recommended, or you could use the template comparison tool to see what was changes between the two templates and add the new changes for 3.7 that way. Considering the numerous changes from 3.6 to 3.7, I'd say to a revert and then add in your changes; the other way around might cause you to miss an important change (and it would probably take longer as well).
