View Full Version : Are there global blog categories or tags?

It would be helpful if my members could assign 'topics/tags/categories' that their blog is about...
For instance, we have members that would primarily blog about 'fitness', while another group might blog about 'home schooling'.
Currently if a user runs a search, the search engine only returns blog POSTS.
I'd like to be able to search by blog TYPE.
Is this possible?

There is no function to do this. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at vBulletin.org (www.vbulletin.org).

It's added to the wishlist.
Example. If you have a site with 100 blogs, there is no real way to catagorize, them, differentiate them, or otherwise filter their content to find what is truely useful.

Good. In the meantime, I'm going to see if I can get a coder at vb.org to handle this.

Exactly. Not having this is quite an oversight.
At the VERY least, blog owners should be able to add 3-5 category tags for their blog. I don't know that I want this to be an admin function for the board owner...
