[fixed] atachments lost in copied AND original threads

I wantet to merge 2 threads, but in editet form. Therefore I did the following:

1. Copied both (puplic forum) threads to a private forum for my working.

2. Edited both copies as I wantet them

3. Merged the 2 - as I hoped the would be - but that did not turn out as I would like.

4. I then deleted the merged thread (made from coppies)

5. I the found out that the atachments in the OROGINAL threads where gone???? Normaly is says "user" xxx has attachet this..... and shows the picture. Now there is not even thios sentence.

What did I do wrong?? How can I prevent this from happening again??

As you can imagine I have some frustrated writes in those 2 threads. Please advice!

make sure the merged thread (the one you put in the field box) is the one without the attachments..

I am absolutely sure I merged COPIED threads - and only them

and I only deleted copies

.....

How can that delete atachments in the original threads - that must be some bug!!

It must be some kind of bug - it can not be right that you can delete something in a thread you are not working with even if that thread is the original of the present thread - everything text and attachments should be copied when you copy a thread - or is it only the text that is copied.


Please advice!

We do indeed copy the attachmentid, so I'll move this to the bugs forum in case we can manage to reproduce it...
