Hi there, i have actually did a test migration to a new server. From 3.5.4 to 3.6.4 I have completed the installation with no problems utilizing the old database and old forum.
After which i tried to do maintenance on the new forum. I have completed the following without problems
>
Update User Titles and Ranks
Rebuild Thread Information
Rebuild Forum Information
Fix broken user profiles
Rebuild Search Index
In the midst of rebuilding the search index VB broke, generating thousands of error mails with the following message
Database error in vBulletin 3.6.4:
Invalid SQL:
LOCK TABLES vb3_mailqueue WRITE;
MySQL Error : Access denied for user '*'@'localhost' to database 'kt_dump'
Error Number : 1044
Date : Wednesday, February 13th 2008 @ 02:39:53 PM
Script : */upload/admincp/index.php?do=head
Referrer : *
IP Address : *
Username : StarScream
Classname : vB_Database
I tried to disable the plugins after some searching on the forums with a line in config.php, and it became worse. The admincp was just blank with the same error message. I tried access the general settings but i could not. I commented the line i added in config.php and its still the same error. i still cannot access to the general settings area.
Please advice.

The most likely cause of this error is that the info in your config.php file is wrong or your db user does not have full permissions to this database. Please read this for all the known causes of this error:

Hi guys, yeah the it was some permissions problem. Anyway it was a mock upgrade of vB on another server which i did not enable sufficient permissions for mysql. anyway successfully upgraded my vB from 3.5.4 to 3.6.4!
No big hiccups right now, i suspect there will be some problems with the plugins. I am just overjoyed that everything went smoothly!!!
Oh... just another question, do i have to rebuild the thread information or anything of that sort?

No, but you should revert any custom templates and redo your changes.

hi, i have successfully upgraded my forum without any much glitch but there seems to be a problem with the alignment of the postings. Please take a look at jpg attached. Just need to know where should amend this part of the table problem? The skin is a custom created skin from vB3.0/3.5.4 i think.

You will need to revert your custom templates, then redo your changes.

That's not the original template. :)
To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':
Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions
[Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]
Next, disable all plugins.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php
define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

i am trying to upload all the all the original vB non image files. Going to over write the files. Anyway i have made a new style, the vb original. You can view it http://forums.keeptouch.net/index.php?styleid=33
It does not have the same problems of the post container shifting over to the right side.
UPDATE > uploaded all the files, still the same shift in the post container

yeaps there are no problems with styleid 33
BUT take a look at this

look at the forum postings. The post containers seems to have this left shift alignment problem. I tried to debug but i am still very lost with what seems to be the problem. Please advice.

Yes, that's a problem with your custom style and templates.

erm... would you be able to point out where should be the problem? The templates were fine until they were reverted

No sorry, I don't know. Since this does work fine with styleid 33, this is a style problem.
