Have you considered the obvious? First upgrade 3.6.0 to 3.6.2 or 3.6.3 and you will have the Patch available. ;)

Regards,

Obvious? I don't see a patch for 3.6.0

Once again, here is the abbr. list of available patches:

Security patch for 3.6.2 (included in 3.6.3+)
* Security patch for 3.5.7 (included in 3.5.8+)

Do you see a "security patch for 3.6.0" in this list? I don't either.

You cannot patch 3.6.0. Patches are designed and tested for the previous version only. You have to do a full upgrade.

Thanks Steve. Where do I find the full upgrade?

Apparently I wasn't clear. :)

You need to "Upgrade" your Forum to at least 3.6.2 and get the patch from the 3.6.3+ which includes the patch OR upgrade straight to 3.6.3 plus. The "minor" changes between 3.6.0 and 3.6.3 probably were not very great, but I have no idea how heavily your Forum may be modified. ;)

The "obvious" was a recognition that vBulletin does not supply the "patch" for 3.6.0, itself, probably because they fixed other issues between 3.6.0 and 3.6.4 and apparently want users to at least go to 3.6.3+.

I wasn't suggesting you missed a listing, only noting your only apparent path to get those patches is to make a minor level upgrade. ;)

You can find the "upgrade" files in the Member Area. When you go to the "Download vBulletin" listing, click the "More Options" button and you will see the links for earlier versions. There is a drop down arrow showing the current version. Click the arrow and you will see all the previous versions available for downloading. Good luck.

Regards,

Thanks. No worries :)

I think at this point it would be better to move to latest stable 3.6.8 or 3.7.0 beta 4. I am using a couple of mods (Latest 10 & Thank You hack) so I'm curious, which do y'all recommend? 3.6.8 or 3.7.0?

Note, no members yet.

Thanks again for the advice.

vBulletin cautions about using a "beta" version for a production Forum, BUT they are running it here and there are a number of people who are already running it on their Production Forums.

One of the chief considerations is the modifications you are already running. One of the first things you should consider is whether or not the modification is working on 3.7.0 and/or 3.6.8 and what the last working updates of your important modifications might be. You can always disable most mods if they are causing problems, but keep in mind there were a lot of template changes between 3.6.0 and 3.7.0 which might affect the modifications.

You might want to consider first creating a test Forum for the 3.7.0 beta X by installing a copy of your current Forum and a copy of the database, giving it a different password and/or database name in the config.php file, and then upgrade that testvb forum to 3.7.0 and see how it works. You will find several Threads on how to create a testvb forum here through the Search button. That would be my recommendation, if you want to go to the Beta software before the official release date.

Even if you are going to go to 3.6.8, you could still go with a testvb installation and upgrade first. However, you shouldn't have that many problems with going from 3.6.0 to 3.6.8, except for possible issues with the Mods.

Good Luck!
