I installed last week - everythings been running very smoothly, I left for a lunch break and came back to get back to work - tried to load site and I get 500 Internal Server Error ... WHAT?
Its working one minute I leave come back and its not working at all ... oh did I mention I did absolutely nothing between the time it was loading and now its not?
What could have caused this error? Is it possible the host just doesnt like vbulletin sites and is sabotaging me?
===================== edit
I just reloaded the site and now its there again .... Had to have been something with the server - no???

If you changed nothing and have not installed any add-ons, then it's a server problem.

Check your websites error logs. This will more then likely tell you what the problem is. Also check your folder permissions and file permissions. If any of them are set to 777 make sure you change them back to the correct permissions.
Also if you have a .htaccess file in the root of your website and forums temporarly rename it to .htaccess2 or something similar to see if the .htaccess file is causing the problem.
If you are on shared hosting maybe your provider did an update or if you have your own dedicated server check for any recent system updates that may have caused the problem.

I have almost the same problem. I am moving with my forum to another server, so i have to install everything again.
Well, i did evrything right, changed config and uploaded files. But when zrying to run the install programm i get 500 Internal Server Errors.
Seems like a server problem... or?

Yes, that's a server problem.

This happened to me a couple of years ago... The error was caused by the hosting provider at the time lowering cpu resources per client. I ended up moving my site to another host. Some hosts will upgrade your account for a fee.
