Impex Changed the Thread IDs

We had a forum running 3.x. We upgraded the forum to 3.6.2 using the ImpEx Utility. Post import all the threadids have changed. We are also using vbSEO along with vBulletin. The problem is that our main site has links pointing to the old threadids which have now changed. Also, we have about 2000 backlinks in Google pointing to our main site. With these changed threadids, our entire SEO activity is jeopardised since ALL the URLs have changed. Is there a way in which we can:

1. Replace the old threadids with the new ones

or

2. make use of the importthreadid field to generate the page of the thread so that our links still remain the same.

This is a VERY BIG problem and we need to take immediate action for it. Priority help would be greatly appreciated.

The threadids and postids are changed when you do an import. I'm afraid there is no way to get around that fact.

Please read the 404.impex.readme.txt file in the Impex tools folder. I don't know if that will do everything you want but this is the only tool available like this. Note also that this is not officially supported.

Probably a bit late now, but doing a straight in-place upgrade rather than using the import tool works fine even on really old forums.
