View Full Version : PT and attachment types

Just tried to upload an .xls file as an attachment to an issue, and got an error message "Unsupported file type", fine, it wasn't listed in the supported types so I can accept that.

Next I went to control panel Attachment manager and added .xls file type. I also checked permissions for groups that can access the project, they defaulted to allow users to upload .xls files. Fine so far.

Return to project workspace, reload ticket. Still does not list .xls file type as allowed!

Reviewed Project Tools control panel for anything related to attachment types, nothing.

My question then is: how do I add file types to the supported types, and why doesn't project tools honour the Attachment manager?

Thanks in advance...

I just had same problem today, (is it a January Bug?:p) a year later.

I am really surprised no one has addressed this issue.

The PT manages attachment types separately and in a much simpler way. This was done because issues may require different types of attachments than the forums.

You can manage the allowed types via the "Project Tools Options" group within "vBulletin Options".
