Database help

Well I have been having some difficulties trying to get up and running smoothly but am very close I hope. I had the forums up and running for a couple of days and then made some changes that caused me to have to reload the software up. I had to make a new database as I didn't want to lose the info I had. Now I have 2 databases in my cpanel one that I have newly created and the one I used for the first one. I have backed up the software and everything. I have tried uploading to the new database and my cpanel doesn't let me do that. I have tried copying the database and that doesn't work. Is there an easier way that I am missing out on. Can someone help me do it. As I said both databases are in my server I just need the info to go from one to the other. Thanks Ian

Hi Ian.

Have you updated the config.php file, so that it points to the appropriate database with the correct login details?

I don't think thats the issue. Sounds like they want to merge two similar databases. IE: Same users but one ran from the 1-8th of month and one that ran after reinstall from 10-20th of month. I know you can merge two disimilar DB with IMPEX but I don't think you can merge two similar ones.

Maybe with a lot of copy and paste but I wouldn't want to undertake it.

Can you explain what you are wanting to do in more detail please.
