Unread user profile message stuck On

I have a member who has an 'Unread Profile Message' indicator stuck to 1 in the navbar. He has had it stuck for a couple of days---clearing cache doesn't do it and myself logging into his account doesn't do it.

This has been the only member with this problem. Ideas?
