I have a quick question and I am way to tired to go do anymore reading :)

OK I have changed servers ugghhh what a nightmare but hey I learned to change over the sites by myself :)

OK the server I am using says I can have as many sub domains as I want but really the are there own domain? I hope this is making sense...can I have a vbulletin on the primary domain and a secondary domain. After all they are two different licenses and both are owned and I am following the rules?

You can install vBulletin as per the license conditions, one install per domain and also one test install(if you wish - in a password protected directory named 'vbtest'). Therefore, if you have bought 2 licenses you can legally setup both copies on a single account, eventhough you have them on different domains.

I have both of my sites (2 licenses, 2 different domains) set up on one hosting account. Mine is a resellers account

Well is what it is they offer addon domains under the same server. I am really thinking about getting a retail server I think that is what it is where I can have others have there domains on it. I really like this new set up and OMG OMG on what I have now is unlimited bandwidth, unlimited disk usage, etc LOL I transfered over SNC (sobernclean) and was thinking of the reseller thing and on the plan I wanted it allowed 60 disk usage and that site is already over that.

Cool I think it will be a good thing and a new beginning. Thanks :D

UNLIMITED bandwidth and storage?? WHO are you hosting with? Noone can offer that, imo, and be honest.

Actually, its a rule that you should never go with a host that offers unlimited disk space and bandwidth. It cannot be done and most of the time they oversell which means trouble for you and your server. Unless you have a dedicated server, I would not have made the switch. Congrats on moving the site though! Isnt it a pain in the a**? lol :p

sure you can say who you're hosting with.

Companies offering 'UNLIMITED' bandwidth or storage, are not informing you of the true facts. It's like saying you have a hard drive in your computer with unlimited space - impossible!!!

Shared Hosting is normally offered on these terms, by many companies - but if you read their TOS you will find clauses, that if you use too many resources on the server then they will suspend your account or ask you to move. I've moved my sites many times, normally because 'Shared Hosting' does have limitations - these are usually on CPU resources or in some cases additional PHP modules, they can limit how much you can use, without breaking the server. Hosting providers may also over-sell, which is also a prime example of using the word 'Unlimited'.

Prices do vary a lot on hosting depending on your requirements. 'Shared Hosting' is okay for small forums, or sites with little traffic. You can go dedicated but this can be expensive unless you are making revenue from your website/s. An alternative is 'VPS' - this is basically everything you have with a Shared Package and the functions of a dedicated package, but works out cheaper. I have seen VPS packages as low as $20 a month, and that was with excellent reports on Support. Tech Support with any host should be your main priority, not webspace or bandwidth. A fully managed VPS, will allow you Root server access, thus allowing you to reboot the server or certain services whenever you wish, so you don't need to contact your host if you encounter problems.

Just my opinion...
